the era of disappearing ranks conference cover

Hello everybody,
GSA executives and staff gathered
in the auditorium on Friday, June 10, 2022,
and CEO Junhee Lee’s lecture,
“The era of disappearing positions!”

We watched together. Junhee Lee is the
representative of the Alive community
and runs a YouTube channel with
430,000 readers, the interview king Lee Hyung.

With the rapid development of technology,
not only society, but also the human
resources required by the companies
we work in are changing rapidly.
In this lecture, CEO Junhee Lee
explains these contents well.

Let’s take a look at the contents
of Lee Joon-hee’s lecture
together with everyone.

CEO Junhee Lee explains the reality of a
carrier in his lecture. The reality of a career
that we know simply as a career is
“leadership” and “influence” that comes from its influence.

From the experience of the human
resources manager of a large company,
the salary is proportional to the influence.

The “honorable salary system,” which sets
salaries in proportion to the number of years
of service, was overthrown after the IMF,
and changed to the “performance salary system,”
in which those who made great achievements
get more salaries. (= role-based system).
The times are changing, and the company is
constantly changing because the company must
not keep up with it. A company also
has to adapt to the changes of its customers.

I tracked people who change jobs well
and who are career jumping, they are influential people

Those who take one step at a time towards ‘growth’ will have ‘influence’.

We can grow in any environment.
In order to grow, you must first have planning
ability with intention,
because the company will entrust
the role to someone with planning ability, not job title
and experience. In order to plan, you must have an intention.

To do something, there must be a planning intention to
change something. Therefore, we should start with the
 practice of planning with intention.Second,
we must be able to execute what we planned with intention.

If you run out of action, you become a man of many
words. You learn to communicate through execution,
and you learn order and timing through the process of execution.

The key to implementation is ‘repetition’, and
‘repetition’ is the process of expanding influence.

If you repeatedly implement a plan
with an intention, you can expand your influence.

The third is learning and editing If what we planned has
not been implemented, we must find the cause and correct it.

There are three things we need to experience within the company for growth.
First, you must experience success.
Success is not that great.

Success experience is a change of before
and after actions based on my actions.

If my actions make me a little better than in the past,
this is a successful experience. What did I change to numbers?
You should be able to explain what you contributed?
in a way that everyone can understand,
and the best thing is to change the number.

It starts with researching industries,
departments, etc. to find the right tasks.
The second is thorough self-management.

Without this, success is impossible. And the beginning of
self-management is time management. It is impossible for a
person who cannot manage time to analyze work and
give feedback on work. A person who can manage time
can manage money, manage people, and manage work effortlessly.
Managing your time gives you the ability to set goals for yourself.

The subject of learning is oneself.Third is communication.
Collaboration for work. Communication skills are
not a talent, but are developed through practice and training.

Communication is a matter of how to convey
the keywords, timing, and topic desired by the other party.

As you move up the organization, all that remains is communication.

Communication grows only with training.
It is necessary to practice counting from the
other person’s point of view.
These exercises can only be done in the company.
Don’t let this great opportunity go to waste.

There are three points you need to challenge for career growth.
First, write a career description.

It helps me understand my competitiveness.
Divide your total career in half. If the number of experiences is
half the number of years of experience, it is “dangerous.”
The way to build a career inside a company is to achieve your goals in the company.

If you don’t have a career that can be explained by numbers or results,
it’s a worthless career. If you do not have a competitive advantage
compared to people around you, that is, people performing
the same job in the same job group and in another company,
based on KPI (key performance indicator),
then it is a worthless career.
Second, write your career roadmap.

CDP (Career Development Path) is to write a career development plan,
a career plan. To do this, find a role model within the company.

A role model is not a great person, but when I see it inside the company,
I feel like ‘I want to grow like that person too’. And interview that person.
What to ask the person “Tell me about your growth path”
Try a three-dimensional analysis of the role model’s growth environment.

Investigate several people, not just one. Then, digest
it with your own , and plan two career roadmaps.
Third, try the challenge within the company.

It is difficult for a company to do such a challenge
anywhere else for those who can’t do it in the company.

To become an Employeencer (a compound word of
Employee and Influencer) who influences society
, you have to become an expert in your field.

It is because if I do not grow up to become an expert
in my field, the good influence I think of will never occur.

After the lecture, in a Q&A session, one viewer asked the following question:

You talked about growth through repetition.
However, in my case, it is difficult to learn something through repetition
because I am given a new task every time. In this case
, how can I find growth points in my new jobs? ‘, he answers as follows:

There are many different competencies, but the most important
skill in personnel management is the ability to achieve goals.
No matter what kind of work you do, it is about setting goals and
designing a process to achieve them. Even if you can’t do it
all at once, you can keep trying to figure out what you
shouldn’t miss in the process and repeat it over and over again.

Even if your work changes, you can still try to achieve your goals.
It’s not about repeating tasks, it’s about repeating this routine of
setting and achieving goals. If you keep repeating this routine,
you will grow no matter what kind of work you do in any area.

Question 2:

If you think that a person who does not grow in a stable company and
only works happily lives on his/her own, is there any need to change for growth?

Companies have no choice but to evaluate and influence their employees based
on their productivity. If the company determines that the productivity
of the employee A is lower than that of the junior employees, the company
can appoint the junior employee as the team leader of the team to which the
employee A belongs. In an age of chaos, in an age in which many things
change rapidly, do not be left behind, but grow up to become a leader.

Growth is not a matter of choice, it is a matter of survival.
If a company does not grow, the company will die out, and if the
employees who belong to the company do not grow,
it will also be put out within the company. It’s never a good career.

According to Maslow’s 5 levels of needs, belonging and
affection needs (level 3) are the distinguishing points that
 distinguish humans from animals.
Otherwise, it is a stage that will never be reached.

Question 3: When you talk about time management,
you said that you divided it into 30 categories.
Please tell us about the most important ones and why.

Answer:

I divided the subject into three categories. They are called P, E, and N.
Planning (planning time), Execution (execution time), Not Important
(wasted time), and time was recorded in units of 1 hour, asking
myself whether this time is P time, E time, or N time, and classified.
As I practiced classification like this, the P-time was too short
. A person who does only what the boss tells him cannot go to P level.

In order to secure planning time, waste time (Not Important)
should be reduced as much as possible. In general, it is not
possible to reduce the execution time. Therefore, planning time
can be increased by replacing wasted time with planning time.

Good planning also changes the way you execute it. Increased planning
time also eliminates unnecessary execution. The first thing we need to do
is eliminate wasted time. Just by reducing wasted time, you start to have time to spare.

Then you can continue planning at that time. The more you reduce waste, devote time to
planning, and practice higher-level planning, the more you will develop the ability
to plan on a higher level. Then the boss will give more planning-related tasks to
the employee with improved planning ability. All of a sudden, planning becomes
a major part of my work. In order to increase productivity, rather than being
ordered by the boss, to work more comfortably and easily,
reduce wasted time and increase planning time as much as possible.

During the lecture, CEO Wonhee Lee emphasized several times that
growth is a matter of survival, not a matter of choice.

It seems that we, who belong to the company and society,
should strive to improve not only our individual survival but also the
viability of the company and society through continuous growth.

I encourage everyone who reads
this to live a growing life. Thanks for
reading this long post.
